We finished one more pinata in our smack ’em and whack ’em project. This one is the haunted house. We are having fun using up old boxes, long-stored paper, and some new punches Paula got at a yard sale. When you’re making a run-down old haunted house, things can be slanted, off center or slightly tattered and it just adds to the effect. Cool, huh? I finished two more pinatas. The spider and a pumpkin. Look at this creepy picture of the spider’s face. I really did find pictures of spiders with eyes all over their heads. GROSS!Here is the finished pinata. As I’ve mentioned before, shipping the pinatas is a problem. I made this spider so his legs can be unattached for shipping and the customer can quickly attach … Continue reading The Sweet and the Creepy
Spider: Pinata Number #18 Life keeps sidetracking me from my piñata project. But life is good, so I’m not complaining, I’m counting blessings. I left off with number 18 of the 20 piñatas in 20 weeks challenge. The 18th piñata is a horrible black widow spider. I really don’t want to make this a cutesy spider. It should be a Halloween creepy spider. One day I decided … Continue reading Spider Eyes
As promised, here is more of the piñata list. I got as far as number eight. Number 8: The wedding cake is done and for sale in our ETSY shop. Number 9: Mark’s owl is almost finished. Isn’t it adorable? For some reason, I think he should be wearing tennis shoes. Number 10: Paula’s owl. Poor thing is still in pieces on the table downstairs. … Continue reading 20 Piñatas…Continued
Haha. Pinata… Busted. Nice play on words. Nope, I didn’t win the 20 Pinatas in 20 days challenge. Good thing it was just something I made up. I do think it could be an interesting reality TV show, though. Even if I didn’t meet my goal, I feel I accomplished a lot of what I wanted to do. First off, my daughter told me I … Continue reading Pinata Challenge..Busted!
Day 19 of the Pinata Challenge. Here’s the flat owl pinata. It’s not totally done yet, but I got a good start on it today. Look what’s growing on our tree. This is the pumpkin pinata getting ready for a paint job. I covered it with orange tissue paper thinking that it would help the pinata take the spray paint. Then I painted some black … Continue reading It’s Not Easy Being Orange
Days 16 and 17. Most of what I’ve been doing is yucky pasting, but here is a colorful photo: This spring we helped make a float and we learned a lot of new things from the experience. We learned about floral sheeting which is what is used to cover the floats. This is some upcycled floral sheeting. I wanted to see how it would look on … Continue reading Pinata Progress
